The Sales Assistant is responsible for managing day to day sales activity for assigned accounts, working lead generation, working closely with customer service, quotes/quote file, receivables/credit, product availability, target account lists, etc. Make sales calls with distributor representatives to promote Pinnacle products.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with the commercial team regarding all opportunities, forecasts and current sales
- Answer sales calls for general information, addressing and resolving customer concerns or questions
- Manage digital and online sales accounts
- Manage auction site sales accounts
- Manage all wide-spec account sales
- Manage distribution account sales
- Manage opportunistic customer segment account sales
- Occasionally travel to customer sites, trade shows, etc.
- Support other members of the commercial team
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Ability to adapt to challenges and remain dynamic to ensure customer satisfaction
- Must have strong working knowledge of personal computers utilizing Microsoft Office applications
- Organizational and prioritization skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, effective problem-solving skills, and good communication skills with both internal and external customers
- The ability to work in a group environment as well as independently. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Tasks require long periods of sitting and occasional standing
- Regularly required to use hands to touch, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms
- Requires regular use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, and scanner/copier)
- This role is regularly required to talk, see and hear, and perform repetitive motions
- Normal Production Plant environment with controlled climate as well as outside elements
- Moderate noises (business office with computer and printers, light traffic or manufacturing facility with heavy machinery)
Requirements:
- Prior sales and/or customer service experience is required
- 3-5 years of supply chain logistics experience, preferably with railcar and bulk truck shipments
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business; Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Functional experience in SAP is preferred
- Must be willing and able to travel (nationally and internationally)
- Ability to work in the U.S. and successful completion of a pre-employment background check and screening
