Pinnacle Polymers, LLC, a privately-owned polypropylene manufacturing facility, has an opening for a Shift Lab Technician.
Main responsibilities and key tasks
The Shift Laboratory Technician position is responsible for performing routine and non-routine analyses of process, production, and sometimes external materials samples using a variety of analytical instrumentation.

- Execute written analytical methods across a variety of instrumentation and sample types
- Accurately report results in a timely manner via LIMS or as requested
- Perform non-routine analysis of samples to help resolve customer complaints and troubleshoot process/production issues
- Perform weekly safety inspections of Lab
- Review, order, and stock Lab supplies weekly
- Assist with performing analysis of water samples in the event of the Day Laboratory Technician’s absence
- Enter and record data accurately
- Additional duties and tasks as determined by management

Required Qualifications

- Associate’s degree or equivalent
- Must be willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as needed
- Must be familiar with and be able to wear proper PPE
- Must be willing and able to safely, effectively and efficiently carry out written and verbal job-related instructions, and adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Must have working knowledge of personal computers utilizing Microsoft Office applications
- Must possess knowledge of the chemical hazards of the process unit and all logic associated with the safe operation of equipment as dictated by the area of operation
- Must possess the ability to multi-task
- Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of oneself or others

Preferred Qualifications

- Chemistry or Science-related Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years of lab experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Previous experience with analysis of polymers

- Must have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the job which are:
- frequently required to sit; stand; walk;
- use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear;
- frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
