ACCOUNTING MANAGER
PURPOSE
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to GL financial reporting for Beauflor USA, LLC, BIG USA Real Estate LLC and BIG USA Inc. This position will be responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting and yearend audit preparation. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for Sales Tax compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
• Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information to assist the Controller in the monthly reporting requirements.
• Authorization of weekly payments; timely reporting of the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities including FX calculations; and creation of extended cash flow projections as requested by Treasury Management.
• Oversite of Sales tax compliance including Nexus verification.
• Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
• Responds to inquiries from the Controller and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
• Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely yearend audit.
• Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
• Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
REQUIREMENTS and QUALITIES:
• BA-Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 10 years prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area
• Advance level Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working in a flooring distribution or manufacturing environment is preferred
• Experience in SAP a plus
• Prior experience in a startup environment a plus
• Ability to prioritize and work independently in a multi-tasked stressful environment
• Strong work ethic, hands-on, self-starter, ability to work extended hours when needed
