Strategic Product Manager

In our ambition to create a more proactive and strategic approach to product marketing we are looking for a dynamic and strategic Senior Product Manager to lead our product management. 

While you will specifically oversee the contract market product portfolio, you will also lead and professionalize the entire product management function. Your team includes a Product Manager – Residential, responsible for the residential segment, and a Product Coordinator, who manages the rollout of collection launches across both residential and contract segments.

This role requires a forward-thinking approach, ensuring that product management extends beyond SKU administration to include comprehensive market and competitor analysis, trend forecasting, and strategic portfolio development.

 

Key responsabilities

Strategic Product Management

• Lead product strategy and lifecycle management for the contract market, ensuring alignment with market demands and business objectives.

• To analyse the markets and competitors by specifying the necessary research to obtain the market insights

• Drive market-driven decision-making, analyzing industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform product development and positioning.

• To generate innovative product development projects and new concepts based on these insights, thus optimizing the collections

• Work closely with R&D, Sales, and Marketing to ensure products meet customer expectations and business goals. 

• To do joint visits with customers in order to communicate the product roadmap of the division and to strengthen the commercial relationships

• Optimize the product portfolio by identifying gaps, rationalizing SKUs, and ensuring competitive pricing and value propositions. 

• To manage the lifecycle by analyzing sales statistics and market trends and making the necessary calls with the other stakeholders on the phasing in or out  of SKU’s

• To manage the product launches in close collaboration with the Product Coordinator (who’s focus is on product implementation: time to market and product launch) and follows up on them to make sure that the new products are aligned on the insights where they originated from. 

 

Team Leadership & Professionalization

• Develop and mentor the Product Manager – Residential and Product Coordinator, fostering a proactive, analytical, and market-oriented approach to product management.

• Implement best practices in product management, ensuring structured processes for market research, competitive analysis, and product lifecycle management.

• Drive collaboration between product management, sales, and marketing to create data-driven decision-making processes.

              

Qualifications

Level Master’s degree preferably a Master with a major in marketing management.

At least 5 years of experience in product management; 

Experience in a construction materials business, understanding the route to market and the type of distribution is a strong plus, but actual strategic product management skills are more important; 

Experience in a context close to factories and new product development with a certain technical affinity; 

A feeling or even passion for interior decoration is a strong plus; 

Experience managing a complex structure of stakeholders: sales, R&D, etc.
