Are you a motivated and forward-thinking Business Analyst to join our dynamic innovation team? As a Business Analyst focused on opportunity definition and project planning, you will play a crucial role in driving the company's growth by identifying and quantifying new business opportunities, understanding market needs, and developing concrete project plans including robust business cases. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for innovation, a keen eye for emerging trends, and a strong ability to translate ideas into actionable plans.

 

Key Responsibilities:


Innovation Opportunity Identification and Market Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and potential business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and data to support opportunity identification.
  • Score ideas by clarifying the value proposition of the innovative solution and compare against existing commercial solutions (ability to win).

 

Opportunity Validation and Quantification:

  • Develop frameworks and methodologies to validate and quantify the viability of identified opportunities.
  • Conduct actions to validate the main assumptions in the field (events, customers, expert interviews etc).
  • Analyze data and metrics to assess the financial, operational, and strategic potential of each opportunity.

 

Project Planning and Business Case Development:

  • Work closely with internal teams to translate validated opportunities into detailed project plans.
  • Define project scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases that outline potential benefits, risks, resource requirements, and financial projections.

 

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with various teams, including R&D teams, sales & marketing, finance, and operations, to align project plans with organizational goals.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions, workshops, and ideation exercises to generate innovative concepts.
     

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed of industry trends, competitive landscape, and technological advancements to enhance the innovation process.
  • Regularly review and refine methodologies for opportunity assessment, validation, and project planning.

 

Communication and Reporting:

  • Present findings, recommendations, and project plans to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on the progress of projects, highlighting key milestones and challenges.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Innovation Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in innovation management, opportunity assessment, and project planning.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and a knack for identifying disruptive opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
