Sustainability Specialist

Our Sustainability Specialist is responsible for working across businesses and functions to integrate sustainability into our activities and operations, helping the organization to progress towards our sustainability goals. This role involves driving sustainability projects and initiatives collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting life-cycle assessments (LCAs) and carbon footprints studies, identifying opportunities for improvement and acting as an ambassador of sustainability within the group.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and initiatives to support organizational sustainability goals
  • Work with internal teams (s.a. R&D, production, procurement), responding to sustainability requests from internal stakeholders 
  • Conduct Life Cycle Analysis (LCAs) and carbon footprint assessment, in alignment with all relevant standards 
  • Collaborate with suppliers and other external parties, to gather data for environmental impact assessments and validate those within processes, products and supply chains
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for sustainability improvements and integrate sustainability into business activities (products, processes,...)
  • Promote awareness and engagement within the organization regarding sustainability
  • Stay updated on tools  and methodologies related to environmental impact assessments and other sustainability topics

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, chemical engineering, chemistry, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sustainability, environmental impact management, R&D or related field
  • Proficiency in LCA software (e.g., GaBi, SimaPro,...) and data modeling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  
  • Excellent communication and stakeholders management
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
