As a corporate safety manager, you follow up trends in your field and you develop and roll out safety programs and initiatives that promote the standards of safety excellence across the organization. This role requires coordination and collaboration with various departments and stakeholders to drive safety excellence and promote a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety standards:
- Develop and roll out comprehensive safety standards setting the minimum B.I.G. safety requirements , such as work equipment safety, internal traffic, chemical management, fire safety, …
- Design tools and training programs to support the roll out of the standards.
- Provide expert guidance and monitor compliance with group standards.
Continuous Improvement:
- Coordinate safety initiatives and campaigns to promote a culture of safety excellence.
- Stay up to date with international tendencies in technology and risk as well as major legislation shifts.
- Identify opportunities for improvement by analyzing the risk profiles of our sites and the root cause statistics of our incidents.
- Lead safety improvement projects and initiatives to drive safety excellence , based on best practices, lessons learned and new methods.
- Promote safety awareness and compliance.
Within this role you will be reporting to the SHE Director.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with relevant safety certification.
- 8+ years of experience in a safety coordinator or similar role, in an industrial environment, preferably across multiple sites.
- Experience in developing and rolling out safety standards and group compliance.
- Fluent in English, Dutch and French.
- Excellent communicator and passionate motivator.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to various company sites (+- 1x/month, mostly within Europe).
