Technical Commercial Manager

A new challenge?

As Technical Commercial Manager, you will focus on technical support, product optimization and customer solutions for our activities in the Japanese market. 

You will be the key technical liaison between Japanese customers (carpet and carpet tile manufacturers), our local partner, and our manufacturing facility in Weihai, China. Your credibility on extrusion, tufting, yarn processing and downstream performance will be essential to support market growth and long-term partnerships.

The ideal candidate is a Japanese professional with a solid technical background in carpet yarns or a closely related textile segment, who is comfortable operating in an international, cross-cultural environment.

Main responsibilities and key tasks

• Provide high-level technical support to the Japanese trading partner and their commercial teams, enabling them to successfully promote B.I.G. Yarns’ solutions in the market.
• Act as the primary technical contact for Japanese customers, including carpet tufting and carpet tile manufacturing companies.
• Support customers with product selection, process optimization, troubleshooting and performance evaluation across extrusion, tufting and finishing stages.
• Translate customer requirements into clear technical specifications and coordinate with the manufacturing team in Weihai to ensure feasibility and execution.
• Participate in customer visits, trials, product validations and technical discussions together with the local partner.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and localization of yarn solutions for the Japanese market.
• Monitor technical market trends, customer feedback and emerging requirements, and report insights to the global organization.
• Support the launch of new products and developments by providing technical training and documentation to partners and customers.
• Act as a cultural and technical bridge between Japanese customers and the international B.I.G. Yarns organization.
• Report regularly to the Global Sales Director Yarns based in Europe.

Competencies and skills

• Strong technical background in carpet yarn extrusion, carpet tufting, yarn ennoblement or a closely related textile process.
• Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, practical solutions for customers and commercial teams.
• Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a matrix organization across different cultures and time zones.
• Strong communication skills, both technically and commercially.
• Structured and reliable way of working, with attention to detail and follow-up.
• Affinity with customer interaction and the ability to build long-term technical partnerships.

Languages

• Japanese as mother tongue
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Any additional language (Chinese or European languages) is considered an asset.
