Main responsibilities and key tasks

 

Partner with the General Manager, the Plant Management Team and HR (you are leading a team of 4 HR colleagues and are working closely together with our Centers Of Excellence and Shared Service Centers in HR) to achieve the goals aligned with the people agenda and business strategy. Attracting and retaining the right talent for your division:

  • Talent Development & Recruitment: we aim to be a ‘Talent first’ company, so identifying the individual development needs in order to grow all people to their maximum potential is key. By translating the business needs into clear HR action plans, you are able to manage our workforce in a proactive way and to recruit the best people.
  • Social relations: we strive to have the best possible social relations with our social partners. You focus on programs and actions to keep our employees and other stakeholders engaged and you represent the employer in the Works Council. 
  • Compensation and Benefits: Your focus will be on implementing different policies (our payroll is centralized at HQ) into your division and on communicating all policies in a transparent and open way to your people.
  • HR Leadership: You manage, lead and coach a team of 4 dedicated HR employees (2 per site). Together – as a team – you follow our HR KPI’s  (absenteeism, turnover, time to recruit, …) and you take the necessary actions to support the business in the best possible way.

 

Competencies and skills

 

 

  • University / Master Degree or equivalent through experience with proven experience (at least 5 years) as an HR generalist in an operational environment (including blue collar workers).
  • Strong interpersonal skills  (‘can do’- mentality & leading by example) with the ability to communicate with and challenge all levels within the company (fluent in Dutch, French and English). 
  • Ability to effectively manage and work within ambiguity and prioritize on business needs and resources 
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws in Belgium.
