The Global Category Manager Logistics is responsible for overseeing all our logistics services within the group. This role involves making procurement decisions, and supporting internal customers. This position will require familiarity with supply chain management and our internal customers.
Main responsibilities and key tasks
- Develop category strategy:
- As our Global Category Manager logistics, you will develop strategies for new or updated transportation, with a focus on sustainability. You will also work with internal customers and build partnerships with our logistic partners.
- Suppliers negotiation and contracting:
- You will handle RFQ to get the best prices from the market, ensure globalisation and finally after negotiation, propose sourcing decisions. You build and agree on the relevant contracts with the most performing suppliers.
- You will focus on multiple lines of transportation (road, maritime and intermodal).
- Considering vendor performance, quality, and costs, category managers seek vendors in the overall market. They also monitor vendors’ adherence to contractual terms throughout the relationship. They are also in charge of developing suppliers to come to the best level of performance.
- Monitor performance & reporting:
- Within your position you will focus on the performance of our transportation and logistics partners on a global scale. This involves a cost-driven mindset and assessing benchmarks from other companies.
- You will be involved in the project for the reporting within our TMS.
- You will focus on reporting within Excel and PowerBi.
Competencies and skills we are looking for
- Previous experience in a logistics or transportation role involving multiple transportation lines.
- Ideally, experience working across various domains within logistics.
- Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
- A cost-driven mindset.
- Willingness to travel (less than 20% and primarily within Europe).
Languages
Fluency in both English and Dutch is essential for this role. Proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.
